Living in the balance of dreaming and doing; that’s Matthew Underwood’s constant goal. It’s not enough to just harness creativity in storytelling: it takes relentless pursuit to turn those ideas into reality.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Nashville, Matthew grew up with two passions: film and music. It wasn’t until he was older that he realized how deeply the two were connected. At a young age, Matthew was creating and telling stories of all kinds: writing books, writing music, and directing short films on his family’s Hi8 camcorder. By the age of 19, Matthew was professionally working in both film and music, and it didn’t take long for him to see that directing and crafting stories was his ultimate passion. He dove in head-first, directing anything he could get his hands on. It was this journey that led him to where he is now, creating stories for brands and artists alike.

There are two defining qualities that Matthew brings to every project: style and substance. Matthew is always looking for stories that matter, stories with heart and emotion. And when it comes to telling those stories, you can bet there will be plenty of style.

Matthew lives in Nashville with his wife Ashlye. Outside of his love for all things film, Matthew enjoys traveling, photography, guitar, and anything with four legs and a tail. And motorcycles. Lots of motorcycles.
