A campfire story of heartbreak, memory, and one very stubborn vintage truck.
When we first signed on to produce Tucker Wetmore’s “3-2-1”, we didn’t know where we’d end up filming, We just knew that it had match the mood of the song and the brand Tucker’s building.
The track is a laid-back yet emotional anthem about heartbreak, regret, and the one that got away, wrapped in the kind of summer-soaked nostalgia that called for a setting that felt both grounded and wistful.
From Nashville to Jupiter, FL
After considering everything from Tennessee to Miami, we found the perfect location: Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation in Jupiter, Florida. A real-deal Boy Scout camp with docks, a swimmable lake, and a campground that gave us all the story moments we needed—plus a team of incredibly generous staff who supported the shoot every step of the way.
We’re talking dock-jumping, late-night bonfires, and misty memories that blend reality with imagination. And we shot it all in one location, with full permission and enthusiastic support from the Gulf Stream Council team. Huge shoutouts to them for not just hosting us but also helping fill out our crew on a tight budget. (Scout’s honor.)
The Story: A Slice of Life with a Twist of Heartbreak
Taillight Director Shane Drake crafted a narrative that weaves in and out of memory—Tucker relives moments with his ex (played by the incredible Landry Davis) as he hangs out with friends. Whether tailgating, jumping off docks, or sitting by a bonfire, Tucker can’t seem to escape her memory… until the moment she actually shows up.
But this isn’t a romantic reunion. She arrives with someone new. And Tucker, clearly not over her, walks away. Just when we think it’s over, a late-night text reads: “Hey, I know that was weird. Can we talk?” And just like that, we’re back to the real heartbreak that inspired the song.
Alligators, Eels & Safety Divers—Oh My
Filming in Florida’s natural beauty came with a few wildcards, but mostly the wildlife. The waters we shot in were home to gators, eels, and more than a few nerves. Fortunately, the camp is well-equipped to monitor the lake, and we had safety boats, scuba divers, and trained staff on hand to ensure our cast and crew were protected while we captured those cinematic water scenes.
A Vintage Scout and Some Serious Crew Muscle
What’s a country heartbreak video without a classic truck? We sourced a vintage 1979 International Scout for Tucker to drive in the final scene. It looked perfect… until it stopped working right before the last shot of the day. No gear. No movement. So the crew did what crews do best—they made it happen. Several grips and PAs literally pushed the truck into frame while cameras rolled. Movie magic.
Real Crew. Real Moments. Real Heart.
DP Diego Cacho and 1st AC Quinten Lesser teamed up with a talented local crew out of West Palm Beach to make this production sing. And, of course, Tucker showed up with his usual charisma, authenticity, and energy—ready to bring this story to life with some of his actual bandmates making cameos along the way.
In the end, “3-2-1” is more than a music video. It’s a memory piece. A moment in time captured in campfires, heartbreak, and a vintage truck that just wouldn’t quit (until it did). We were honored to be part of Tucker’s journey and proud to help bring this next chapter of his music to life.
A huge thank you to the incredible team behind the scenes!
