In honor of First Responders Day, country music superstar George Strait releases a powerful new music video for “The Weight of the Badge” as a tribute to first responders.
The music video was shot documentary style and directed by Taillight's Justin Nolan Key.
It focuses on stories and moments with some of our nation’s first responders and their families, giving some insight on what it means to live every day bearing the weight of the badge.
You can see behind the scenes footage of Major (ret.) Charles N. Appleton Jr. (left) of the Massachusetts State Police and his son Captain BCI Robert B. Appleton (right).
“The men and women in this music video are our friends and neighbors who carry the weight of the badge each day,” says Strait in the video. “Thank you. We appreciate you and the sacrifices you and your families make.”
The video was shot in four separate locations: Woodstock, NY, Saugerties, NY, Albany, NY and Dallas, TX and showcases the brave men and women that serve those communities.
Thank you to First Responders Children’s Foundation for their help in locating these heroes and helping to voice their stories.
